Powerball Powercruise Returns for 2019
The inaugural Powerball Powercruise set sail in January this year, and the competition to win a place on the 2019 voyage is already open. Up for grabs for each winner is a cruise for two onboard the Royal Caribbean® Majesty of the Seas®, round-trip airfare for both people to Fort Lauderdale, and hotel accommodation the night before the ship sets sail.
Once the cruise liner is on the water, the lucky winners will have the chance to win a share of $250,000, with two top prizes of $50,000 to be won. Headline performances by Kenny Loggins and the supergroup World Class Rockers will provide entertainment while the ship makes its way around the Bahamas, and when it hits shore, winners will be able to visit the idyllic beaches of Cococay and Nassau.
The cruise will depart Fort Lauderdale on 19th January 2019, spending five days at sea before returning to port on 24th January. All meals on the ship are free (excluding room service and speciality restaurants), and each room will receive a credit of $250 for onboard purchases.
How to Win a Place on the Powercruise
Many state lotteries are participating in the promotion, including Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Vermont, Washington DC, Washington State, and West Virginia.
Each participating state has its own set of rules for entering the Powerball Powercruise competition, such as ‘Collect N Win,’ in which players collect randomly-generated symbols by validating their Powerball lottery tickets online. Collecting enough symbols wins a place on the cruise. Other state lotteries are offering straightforward online raffles instead.
Each state lottery website has further information about how to enter the competition, and more details of the trip can be found on the official Powerball Powercruise site. The promotion ends on June 6th, after which the winners from each state will be confirmed.
Powerball Jackpot Hits $215 Million
If the prospect of visiting the stunning beaches and crystal-blue waters of the Bahamas isn’t enough to entice people into playing the Powerball lottery, the $215 million jackpot might be. The huge top prize amount has been reached after 11 consecutive rollovers, but it’s still got some way to go before it surpasses this year’s biggest jackpot of $456 million. That incredible prize was won in the Powerball draw on 17th March, but was only recently claimed by a lawyer in Pennsylvania acting on behalf of a trust. Setting up a trust to claim lottery prizes is one way in which winners in the United States can retain their anonymity.
For those not interested in Powerball, the Mega Millions lottery is also well into nine figures, currently standing at $143 million ahead of the next draw on Friday. You can participate in both of these lotteries by picking numbers online.
