For the second draw in a row, the EuroMillions jackpot was won but this time by a ticket holder from Ireland. This is the first time an Irish player has won the EuroMillions jackpot since September 2013 and is just the sixth Irish EuroMillions jackpot win since the lottery’s inception in 2004.
In addition to the jackpot winner, four ticket holders matched all five main numbers and one Lucky Star to take home £169,485 (€242,827) and just two ticket holders matched all five main numbers to each win €161,885. A striking feature of last night’s results was that there were more winners in the second prize tier than there were in the third. The last time this happened was on Friday 24th January 2014 when seven players won the second tier prize and five won the third tier prize. As there were no UK winners, the value of the third prize tier isn’t available in sterling but, according to the current exchange rate, the prize would have been approximately £134,099 had there been a British winner.
Other prizes won last night started at £2.80 (€4) for matching for two main numbers up to £2,404 (€3,444) for matching four main numbers and both Lucky Stars. To view the full prize breakdown from last night’s draw, visit Euro-Millions.com.
