The rules for Lotto state that the top prize can only roll over four times before it must be won; if it isn’t, the prize money is distributed in the next prize tier with winning tickets. The last Lotto rolldown took place on Saturday 4th January 2014, when a £13.4 million jackpot was split between 23 ticket holders in the Match 5 + Bonus Ball prize tier. Each player won £585,596 that night - still a sizeable sum!
If you missed out on a prize this time around, don’t worry - you can play Lotto again on Saturday, when the game will be back with a top prize worth an estimated £4.1 million as well as 50 Lotto Raffle prizes worth £20,000 each. Ticket sales have now reopened and you can buy your entries online or in person from authorised retailers across the country. Good luck!
