Unusually, there were no winners in either the first or secondary prize tiers last night- an incredibly unusual result which has not occurred since 17th August, 2011, more than two years ago. However, not everyone went home empty handed and amongst the 130,000 tickets that won a prize, 122 matched five numbers to win £1,386 each. Since the UK Lotto redesign came into effect in October, the UK Lotto has seen a significant increase in the average size of jackpots. Saturday night jackpots now average £4.5 million and Wednesday night jackpots now average £2.3 million, both higher than the £3.9 million and £2.1 million respective average jackpots, pre redesign. In addition to increased jackpots, more than 5,000 players have won £20,000 on the Lotto raffle and 8.9 million players have won £25 for matching just three main numbers.
As a result of there being no jackpot winners in last night’s draw, Saturday’s draw offers a jackpot of £5.8 million plus 100 Lotto Raffle prizes of £20,000. Tickets for Saturday’s draw are available online at Lottery.co.uk and from participating retailers.
